Ayurvedic Yoga Massage with Su Chanprasong. Available in our Hitchin treatment room. 60 or 90 minute treatments available. £65 for 60 mins £80 for 90 mins AYM is a deep tissue oil massage followed by assisted yoga stretches. It is adjusted to suit clients needs, whether that is relaxing, energising, soothing, deep or remedial. The method was developed by Master Kusum Modak in Pune, India, after many years of studying traditional Ayurvedic massage and Iyengar yoga. AYM is an amazing technique which works on physical, emotional, mental and energetic levels. We use natural oils and a powder from the ground root of Acorus calamus, a wetland plant in the sweetflag family. This gives a pleasant exfoliating feeling, but mainly helps improve circulation and warm up the tissues, intensifying the benefits of the massage. This massage therapy is supported by gentle mobilisations, tractions and assisted (passive) yoga stretches. These help lengthen the tissues in a functional way, useful if you’ve had injuries. Through these gentle movements we help relax the tendons and ligaments, and improve the synovial fluid in joints. In a traditional Thai massage, you are asked to wear loose clothing. Practitioners use their hands, thumbs, elbows, forearms, and sometimes even their feet to reduce tension in your muscles. Thai massage is based on the idea that energy moves through your body along predictable lines or pathways known as sens. Thai oil massage removes toxins, boost up skin pert and brings very deep relaxation. You will need to be undressed (towels are draped over you during treatment). Your therapist applying pressure to relax and rejuvenate your entire body. This pressure can range from very gentle, to very deep, firm pressure, as far as you wish to take it.
